OSHA proposed heat rule: protective performance and heat load belong on one review sheet

OSHA issued a proposed rule on indoor and outdoor heat injury and illness prevention in 2024. It is neither a Chinese mandatory requirement nor a final rule, but provides a public reference for multinational discussion of heat exposure, work practice, and workwear comfort.

The public record notes: The OSHA page is dated 30 August 2024. The rule is proposed. Heat-risk control normally involves engineering, administration, training, hydration/rest, and PPE measures.

Protection and comfort should not be framed as a binary choice. Materials, layering, pattern, work intensity, climate, and laundry rotation influence wear compliance together, but every trade-off needs site risk assessment and applicable requirements.
